The Elite Grub is a type of Grub encountered in Plazma Burst: Forward to the Past. This Grub is encountered in the tail-end of Chapter I, and wields dangerous weapons. It is a stronger version of the Armored Grub.
Elite Grubs are similar in appearance to the Armored Grub; however, the head shape is moderately different, and the colors of the details are different; having a yellow visor and red lights. Their Arm Cannon has the same appearance as the normal Grub's arm cannon, though with no exposed flesh. This detail is less prominent in Plazma Burst 2, as all Grubs have this arm cannon for their arms.
Elite Grubs are the final advancement of the Grubs, being the most durable and the most deadly with their Rocket Launcher Arm Cannons. They also have a Ray Rifle variant, but these Elite Grubs are vastly less difficult to deal with. The Rocket Launcher Elite Grubs are encountered in Level 8 (FTP), while the Ray Rifle Elite Grubs are encountered in Level 10 (FTP).
Trivia[]
- Originally, they did not have a playable skin. It was added in the Version 1.28 for Plazma Burst 2, alongside the Armored Grub.
- In the 1.7 version of Plazma Burst: Forward to the Past, Elite Grubs have bright red eyes instead of yellow ones. Their heads also had a rougher and less detailed design.
- Originally, they were simply known as Armored Cyber Grub, just like the Armored Grub. However, as of Version 1.32, they were given distinct names.
- Prior to version 1.32, these units did not have a unique name in Plazma Burst 2, and the level editor simply referred to them as "Armored Grub Red."
- Elite Grubs seem to be meant for fighting, unlike their weaker counterparts.
- Like normal Grubs, they will attack Human Soldiers if they see the Marine at the same time but not in level 7 and level 8, likely due to poor programming, theoretically being allies with the Falkoks or some other reasons.
